March 5,2010 an email from our friend Ben!
Thanks Ben!
Hi Larry,
Well I would like to give you my assessment of the new Ultimat II. When you offered to build me this new design mat I was counting on some increase in performance level over the copper Ultimat that I own. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this level of increased performance! It is absolutely stunning, almost beyond belief. That is why I emailed you after the new alloy mat arrived that I would need a few days to process all of this. I could not believe the increase in performance of my turntable. To say it was stunning would be an understatement. The background was dead quiet with the copper ultimat now the background is deader quiet (if that is even a word) and I just can't understand how this is possible, but if is. The Ultimat II is even blacker and more quiet. Utterly AMAZING!!!!
Now lets talk about the sound. The bass is deeper than I have ever experienced. Clean and deep even at the lowest of octaves with absolutely no distortion. My windows now rattle in the house when certain bass notes are played on a recording and I am just listening at a moderate level not really loud. I think if I really cranked up the stereo I could crack the plaster in the ceiling, INCREDIBLE !!!
Midrange and highs are as sweet and musical as can be. The inflection of a singer voice is just stunning. The sound of the overall recording is just so smooth........Its liquid sound, its the only way I can describe it.
Soundstage with the copper Ultimat was wide, wall to wall and floor to ceiling and it is the same with the new Ultimat II. I would need a larger room to experience more width of the soundstage. Now for depth, the Ultimat II blew away the copper Ultimat. The depth of the soundstage is like 10 feet deep. Words can not describe this, again utterly AMAZING!!! I now have true 3 dimensional holographic sound with just 2 speakers. It is something you just have to experience, WOW!!!
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. The performance increase by the new Ultimat II over the copper Ultimat is by leaps and bounds. Please let me say this, the copper Ultimat is one hell of a mat, with great performance increases all the way around but this new alloy 3 piece Ultimat II takes you to another universe in sound reproduction.
Larry, you have a great team of people working for you. Your products are marvels of engineering and design. Their performance supersede anything out there in the industry. The design, build quality and performance of your products would exceed even the most critical screw née. When I walk out of the room after a listening session I am still wondering....." How does TTWeights do this?"
Your Logo should read
"TTWeights, We Sell Goosebumps"
Thank you and Cheers!!!
